Why do I need to Redirect Domain to New Hosting Server
If you are using a domain registered with a Hosting company and now you don't want to use the hosting of that site. Now you are looking for a new web hosting site and use the same domain from new hosting. Then you will do this in very easy and simple steps.
For example if i buy a domain with hosting package from goDaddy and now i want to renew the domain from Godaddy but i don't want to use the GoDaddy hosting due to some reason instead i want to use Hostgator/BlueHost hosting service. Means i want my domain to point the new server.
Then what should i do to redirect my godaddy domain to new hostgator /bluehost hosting? What are the ways to do this? Is it possible to redirect my domain to new hosting service? Many question arises and the answer for all is Yes you can do this.
Solution
For pointing your domain to new Hosting service you jst need to know about your Hosting server;s IP address and NameServers. And by using this IP address and namespace you can manage your domain to redirect to the new IP address which you are going to add of your hosting service.
Steps:-
1. First Go to your Hosting Server login.
2. Copy the IP Address and Namespace from their.
If you don't find the IP and Nameserver. Read this update How to get Shared IP Address of a server?
3. Now login into your Domain account (In my case it is GoDaddy)
4. Select your domain from Domain List displayed on screen.
5. Now scroll down the screen and you will find screen similar to this
6. Select the Manage DNS From right side links. And you will find this screen
7. Now Select the Type A and click on Edit
8. Paste your share hosting service shared IP Address in Points To box . And click on save. Now your DNS redirects to your newly bought hosting server. Also add the Domain in your hosting server.
9. Change the nameservers to your new host nameservers by scrolling down the same screen.
10. Click on change and add both of the namesever names you get from your hosting server. and click on save. Now you are done.
Just sit relax and wait for some time. It will take some time to update the DNS and IP.
